Topic: Sharing Teaching Practice Experiences between Prospective Teachers in Cambodia and Myanmar

(Teaching practice is divided into two stages: observation stage and teaching stage)

1.  Goals

The project aims to:

     - identify strengths and weaknesses of teacher trainees' teaching practice

     - find out effective feedback to teacher trainees during teaching practice, and

     - share how and what to do in observing stage and teaching stage.

2.  Target participants

The second year teacher trainees are divided into groups of 2 or 3, and they have to do teaching practice for six weeks in an assigned lower secondary school.

3.  Procedures

During the first two weeks, teacher trainees will observe the supervisor whose classes will be taught  to get some ideas about lesson plannings, classroom management, teaching methods, techniques as well as problem solving. After this stage, teacher trainees will teach for 4 weeks while they will be also observed by their supervisor and inspector, as well as their group members. Then, they will get some feedback from them.

4.  Tools

One of the most suitable technologies available for this project is Google's Hangout because the participants can communicate with each other both verbally and non-verbally. Teacher trainees will share and give feedback on each other's work on what they notice and learn during each stage, and they have to discuss to identify what their strengths and weaknesses are in both stages.
